I love little Christmas villages but wasn’t up to purchasing a ton of pieces and storing them. This led me to create my own paper village using my Cricut Maker that depicted all my favorite scenes. One of the best parts is that each layer accordion folds flat for easy storage. This is one of my favorite holiday decorations.
Cricut Machine
If you’re not familiar with the Cricuts they are the ultimate craft cutting machine and you can cut this craft with any of the machines since it’s just cardstock, the Cricut joy would be a bit smaller since the mats are smaller. There are many machines at different price points the least expensive being the Cricut Joy and the most being the Cricut Maker, since it cuts the largest amount of different materials. A Cricut machine makes creating this paper Christmas village a breeze along with many other holiday crafts.
Paper Christmas Village Cutting and Assembly
To get the template for this Cricut craft click this link to the design space templates. The cardstock I used to make this village from was a very thick glitter cardstock which avoids the panels being less flimsy. To cut the village I recommend cutting each scene 8″ wide. On the lower levels, you can fit two to a page.
Once you have cut all the pieces fold the end tab of each scene. This is where you glue and attach to the next scene. Each scene in that layer begins and ends in the same place so you can put them in any order as long as it’s the same layer. I recommend using a strong quick-drying glue like a low temp hot glue gun.
Light Up your Paper Christmas Village
This paper Christmas village looks so pretty with lights in between the layers, especially in the evening. This is really easy to do with battery fairy string lights. Just weave the strand in between the layers making sure that the wire does not pop above each layer.

I hope you enjoyed this Cricut craft for your own paper village. I find this Paper Christmas village a sweet addition to any holiday decoration. Happy Holidays and I hope you all stay safe and healthy.
