One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is receiving everyone’s holiday cards! Everyone has their own way of collecting the cards they receive. For me, I love being able to see all of them at once and extra string lights are always a plus. Here is how I put up my Christmas card display using a curtain string light.
Hanging the String Light Curtain
I hang my string light curtain in the same way I hang most of my holiday decorations, using command hooks! They are perfect for these lights. Because I also want the lights spaced closer together and I don’t need a really wide span I like to double up the curtain wall by folding it in half. These lights also have multiple light functions which are great so you can change whether you want them flashing or flat.
Faux Garland
To cover the hooks and the option box on the top of the curtain lights I like to use faux garlands. I just clip them into the hooks that are already there for the string lights. After clipping in the garland throughout the top. I also added this white berry strand and faux pink amaryllis which I thought really added to my Christmas card display.
Season’s Greetings Banner
What better way to decorate the designated Christmas card display than with this Season’s Greetings banner. To make this banner I used my Cricut Maker. If you’re not familiar with Cricuts they are the ultimate cutting craft machines. The maker cuts the largest amount of different materials from paper, vinyl, fabric, wood, and more. If your looking to make only projects like this and mostly paper and vinyl you can use the new Cricut Joy which is less expensive. Using the Cricut you can design your own template or my template here to cut your own out of whatever color cardstock you would like.
Putting up Your Christmas Cards to Display
After you set up your Christmas card display lights I have found the easiest way to place the cards is using mini clothespins. These clothespins are small so they aren’t really noticeable. They are also inexpensive and easy to find on Amazon or you can find them in most craft stores.
More than ever being unable to see friends and family this year makes receiving these holiday cards even more special. However, you decide to create your Christmas card display I hope you enjoy all your seasons’ greetings. Happy holidays!
