This year I was dreaming of a PINK CHRISTMAS with my blush pink Christmas Tree decorations. Every year I change up the color scheme a little. Since especially this year it will be just us enjoying our holiday decor, I decided to do the color I truly love most. A beautiful, soft, happy blush pink. I’m thankful my husband doesn’t mind the abundance of pink in our home or untraditional Christmas decorations. He thought this year’s tree was the best yet!
Christmas Traditions
The last few years we have consistently gone to our favorite local tree farm at Staehly Farm for our tree. They have so many beautiful trees and I love the tradition of going the day after Thanksgiving to pick out our tree and cut it down ourselves (I mean my husband). This also means more trees don’t get chopped down than our needed. Another thing I love about this farm is that it’s dog friendly! We usually bring a pup or two and they also make their own fruit wine. I usually grab a bottle of their dry apple wine to bring home.
Blush Pink Christmas Tree Decorations
I wanted to keep this tree light and airy so I tried to decorations with a lot of white and nothing too dark. I also wanted a light snowy flocked look and did my own simple DIY flock made of only 3 household ingredients. Most of the decorations for my blush pink Christmas tree I already had, since my favorite color is pink. I did buy this white pom garland and pink velvet ribbon from Michaels, along with a few other small garlands for the house and my pink ice cream cone ornament. I had the pink balls and even the added touches of these rose gold ornaments.
The Stockings Were Hung… Not on the Chimney
Since I don’t have a chimney, I opt to hang our stockings behind our tree on the wall using command hooks. Years ago I made a handful of stockings for us and the pups that are the red and white fabric. This year I saw these pink velvet stockings at Target and couldn’t resist getting one for me and Lily. I thought they were so lovely for my blush pink Christmas tree. I highly recommend Command hooks for holiday decorating. I use them all over my house. My only tip is that I don’t have good luck with the clear adhesive strips for the small clear clips but the white adhesive comes off easily and damage free as long as you remove them slowly.
I hope you enjoy your Christmas decorating this year and stay safe and healthy this holiday. Merry Christmas!
